About Cherokee Springs

Cherokee Springs Golf & RV Resort was originally part of a 1000+ acre ranch until 1996 when Frank and Claudia Pierce purchased the property to develop it into Franks' dream of a destination resort for people looking for a cool summer get away. When Frank rode the property on his horse Buck, he thought to himself how the natural contours of the back valley would be perfect for a 9-hole golf course.

In 1997 Frank started construction of the course and finished the ranch house and barn. Due to health reasons, the Pierces weren't able to continue the project and in May of 2000 Valerie and George Gautier purchased the ranch from the Pierces, who had been long time friends of the Gautier family. On July 15, 2000, the 9-hole golf course was opened to the public for the first time while construction of the clubhouse began along with the utility hook-ups for the RV lots.

The Gautiers have been living at the Ranch full-time since the purchase in May, between trips to California to visit with family in the Bay Area, Lake Tahoe and Santa Barbara. They are thrilled to be part of such an exciting project and have been getting to know the area through local community fundraisers they have sponsored in conjunction with the Hatch Volunteer Fire Department. They also have been exploring the hiking trails of nearby Bryce Canyon, Red Canyon, Proctor Canyon and Assay Creek, when time permits.
